Piu D'Jay (Anastácio Silveira) has been behind the decks for more than 35 years, playing the best dance floors, beach bars and events. A fashion and style designer too, he brings that same feel for style to his sets. He plays on Saturday as the sun goes down over the lagoon, and again on Sunday afternoon.

Ian de Witte is not only a top kitesurfer and a local hero in Friesland, he is also a rising DJ from the Netherlands, the land of Tiësto, Armin van Buuren and Martin Garrix. He often plays beach parties and brings house and deep house to the sand at Praia da Baleia. We're sure he'll turn it into a party!

RaceTraditional jangada sailing race · fishermen of Praia da Baleia

It's confirmed! The fishermen of Praia da Baleia race their jangadas: wooden fishing rafts with one big triangular sail and no motor. A crew of two to four, a mestre at the long steering oar and an aguador who splashes the sail wet for extra speed. All boats start together, round the marks at sea and race back to the beach, so you can watch everything from the sand. A living piece of Ceará's history, from the Dragão do Mar to the legendary 1941 voyage to Rio.

Noah Nicolas grew up on the water in Tarifa and won the GKA Youth World Championship twice (U19, 2023 & 2024), riding strapless, and is a 4× Spanish champion in Freestyle and Big Air. Today the Duotone team rider flies with the best in Big Air and lands some of the sickest tricks around. At Baleia he gives a live demo, and you can join one of his short clinics for a small fee. He speaks English, Spanish, French and a bit of Portuguese and Italian.

Baleia Language Retreat is a language school that teaches Portuguese to people from outside Brazil, in the beautiful and relaxed setting of Praia da Baleia. It also teaches Spanish and English to the local community, contributing to the development of Baleia and its people. At the festival they host a Language & Culture workshop.

Crafts & foodCraft & food fair · 32 artisans from Praia da Baleia
Craft market & regional food all weekend
The Associação Arte Nossa will be at the festival! The association is led by its president Francinilda, a native of Baleia, and brings together 32 artisans working in many crafts: renda de bilro (bobbin lace), crochet, jewellery and pyrography. They also serve typical dishes such as galinha caipira (free-range chicken), arroz de polvo (octopus rice) and creme de lagosta (lobster cream).
